In this article, I’m gonna cover the next 4 Names In sha Allah! Let’s read for boosting our Iman & for knowing Allah Almighty.

→ Al-Kabeer (The Greatest)

Allah is Al-Kabeer, the perfection of greatness. The heart of the believer knows that the perfection of Allah is beyond our comprehension and nothing is comparable to him. He is the One who is unimaginably great and perfect. His greatness is beyond measure and his being is unimaginable to the human mind.

Al-Kabeer embraces all kinds of greatness, from rank, size, nobility, and knowledge to mercy, and it tells us that nothing was, is, or will ever be like Him!

Kabeer comes from the root kaaf-baa-raa (کبر), which points to three main meanings.

→ To be great in rank and nobility

→ To be great in size.

→ To be great in age and the fourth

→ To be great in learning and knowledge.

→ To have rights above all others.

[He is] Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, the Grand, the Exalted. (Surah Ar-Ra’d, 13:9)

Concepts of Ranks

We’re naturally inclined to admire those who are most beautiful, most intelligent, most eloquent, most powerful, most generous, most merciful, most handsome, most intellectual, most rich and the list goes on…….
However Al-Kabeer Himself says:

“See how We prefer one above another (in this world), and verily, the Hereafter will be greater in degrees and greater in preferment” [Quran, 17:21].

The poorest & ugliest ones in this world can be the richest in the Hereafter and vice versa; it all depends on one and only one thing: your rank with Allah Almighty, the al-Kabeer.

So ˹Today˺ judgment belongs to Allah ˹alone˺ — the Most High, All-Great. (Surah Ghafir, 40:12)

Our Duty?

— : Find happiness with Al-Kabeer.
Our original nature (Fitrah) makes us seek true love and perfection and Allah Al-Kabeer is the source of all perfection. So, your heart can feel peace and happiness only by turning to Him. In fact, the more you get to know about Him, His names, and His attributes, the more you’ll turn to Him with true love and devotion and feel secure and peaceful with Him.

— : Ponder

Just explore the functionality of your body and see how Amazing designer ALLAH is. DNA, Brain Areas, Sleep patterns & types, Skin, Nervous SYstem are some of the examples. Research about them and see these amazing creations. This shows how Al-Kabeer Allah is. How he made such complex and sophisticated designs. Doing that will bring you closer to Allah.

— : Never be arrogant.
Guard yourself against arrogance (kibr). Never look down on others; you don’t know the rank they have with Al-Kabeer. Arrogance can also be found in how you deal with the commands of Allah. Imagine that Allah is always watching your actions. Allah will raise you if you humbles yourself in front of Him.

— : Strive
Glorify Him alone and be humble in life in order to be great in the sight of Al-Kabeer. If Allah Al-Kabeer blessed you with being kabeer in this world in knowledge, job position, or any other skill, make others benefit and truly become kabeer to Him in the Hereafter.

— : Call Al-Kabeer.
Make dua using this name to ask Him to lead you to deeds pleasing to Him. There is no rank higher or achievement better than the attainment of Allah’s good pleasure.

— : Try to Feel Allah.
Once my mentor said to me, we’re hypocrites in this world. I asked how we were? He said We say Allahu akbar in Namaz, which means Allah is the greatest. But What is really Akbar in our life? Partner (Wife/Husband)? Parents? Money? Friends? Family? Job? Status? etc etc. Allah only exists in our imagination, not in reality & practical life. This lesson fascinates me a lot.

In short, he wanna say: Whenever you say, or hear, Allahu Akbar in prayer or the adhaan (call to Prayer), know what it really means. Know that Al-Kabeer is far greater than anything that you could ever imagine or think of. Always brings Allah into your practical life.

→ Al-Hafeedh (The All-Protecting)

Allah is Al-Hafeedh, the guardian and protector of everything. The One who is vigilantly guarding every detail of all that has been created. Al-Hafeedh is heedful of all we do and He protects us from things we do not even realize, giving believers many opportunities to earn His special protection!

He is also the protector of The Quran and vowed to safeguard it from being changed or perverted as was the case with previous scriptures.

Hafeedh comes from the root haa-faa-dhaa (حفظ), which points out these main meanings.

→ To guard, protect, retain, and take care of.

→ To be watchful, mindful, and attentive.

Indeed my Lord is, over all things, Guardian. (Surah Hud, 11:57)

Note:

Linguistically Hafidh is used for the one who memorizes Qur’an. But a note is maybe maybe he can forget a portion of Qur'an but Allah ‘azza wajall negated forgetfulness on Himself; He will protect and guard the knowledge and never forget it. Also, Musa ‘alayhi sallam testified to this fact, saying:

The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets. (Surah Taha, 20:52)

He knows even those things about which you don't know too (exp: unconsiousness)

Our Duty?

— : Be Motivated

Al-Hafeedh is heedful of everything you do by His knowledge, He orders His angels to record everything you do. Even the smallest deeds, like coming to an Islamic lecture, sitting nicely, and making notes, Acting upon good things. Al-Hafeedh will preserve everything and appreciate it. So, Know that you’re a slave (Abd) of Allah, not people, and be motivated to do good deeds so that Allah will give you rewards in turn to it.

— : Fear Al-Hafeedh

This name gives you hope as well as a sense of fear from Allah. If he preserve your good deeds, He’s also heedful of your wrongdoings intentionally or unintentionally. So, Fear from him while doing any bad thing by imagining that Allah will preserve it too and it can be harmful to you.

— : Memorize the Quran.

According to Prophet (SAW), the best ones are those who learn or teach Qur’an. So, Work hard to be of those who preserve His Book, the Quran, by memorizing it(even small portions). When memorizing His Book call upon Al-Hafeedh and ask Him to preserve and keep it in your mind.

— : Be thankful.
Al-Hafeedh preserves your body in an amazing way; only imagine if your blood would freely flow into your brain. Imagine if any part of your brain gets damaged. Be thankful to Al-Hafeedh for the way He preserves you and protects you in ways you don’t even realize.

And your Lord, over all things, is Guardian.(Surah Saba, 34:21)

→ Al-Muqeet (The Sustainer)

Allah is Al-Muqeet or the ultimate sustainer. He gives strength and nourishment to all of creation and maintains all that exists. He is the powerful maintainer who sustains, nourishes, protects, and oversees all that exists. He is the sustainer of all, the seen or unseen, the outer or inner.

Muqeet’s root word points to these main meanings.

→ To supply, maintain, and sustain.

→ To feed and nourish.

→ To keep, preserve, and guard

There is no moving creature on earth whose provision is not guaranteed by Allah. And He knows where it lives and where it is laid to rest. All is ˹written˺ in a perfect Record (Surah Hud, 11:6)

Sustaining Body and Soul

Al-Muqeet protects and sustains living beings; in this sense, this name is strongly related to Al-Hafeedh, The Preserver. He makes accessible what is necessary and what is a luxury. And He does not only sustain our bodies with provisions like food and drink but Al-Muqeet also for example sustains the heart through knowledge.

Al-Muqeet is taking care of all living beings by sending down all kinds of physical and spiritual nourishment for them.

Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Will I take any guardian other than Allah, the Originator of the heavens and the earth, Who provides for all and is not in need of provision? (Surah Al-An’am, 6:14)

Our Duty?

— : Recognize

Let this name inspire you to equip yourself with this good manner: every time food is brought to you, recognize Al-Muqeet and His amazing grace through which you are provided with food. This goes for all the daily life provisions you never really think about, even the knowledge you are able to gain to strengthen your mind and heart. If you train yourself to such recognition you will be able to live by this name. And there will be Barakah in your provision.

— : Sustain others

If you are grateful to Al-Muqeet for His sustenance, protection, and nourishment. then try to sustain others with help of Allah. Teach them knowledge, good manners, and lead them to the ever-Living, the Sustainer.

— : Seek from Al-Muqeet only.
Only seek of all your wishes and desires from Him, for only Al-Muqeet holds the keys to the treasures of His sustenance. There’s a beautiful Dua of Hazarat Musa (AS). Try to repeat that as many times as you can. You will experience amazing things.

A Powerful Dua

— : Use your sustenance

Whatever Al-Muqeet blessed you with, protected you with, and gave you access to, show Him that you use it to please Him and not to anger Him. Pay your zakah over your belongings, give abundant sadaqah with your time and skills, and don’t misuse your sustenance by using it for impermissible things or by being ungrateful or unsatisfied.

And ever is Allah, over all things, a Keeper. (Surah An-Nisa, 4:85)

→ Al-Haseeb (The Sufficient, The Accountant)

Allah is Al-Haseeb. He is The One who takes account of all actions and reckons them on the day of judgment. There is nothing that goes unnoticed, however small. He is the measurer and accountant of every deed.

Al-Haseeb is The Sufficient; in general because He takes care of all His slaves, giving them benefits and warding off harm. And also Al-Haseeb takes extra special care of those of His pious slaves who put their trust in Him, giving them support and victory!

Haseeb comes from the root haa-seen-baa (حسب), which points out three main meanings.

→ To be reckoning, counting, and calculating.

→ To give without the receiver’s expectation.

→ To be sufficient, or to be without measure.

And when you are greeted, respond with a better greeting or at least similarly. Surely Allah is a ˹vigilant˺ Reckoner of all things. (Surah An-Nisa, 4:86)

[Allah praises] those who convey the messages of Allah and fear Him and do not fear anyone but Allah. And sufficient is Allah as Accountant. (Surah Al-Ahzab, 33:39)

Our Duty?

— : Bring yourself to account.
[It will be said], Read your record. Sufficient is yourself against you this Day as accountant. [Quran, 17:14].

Make it a daily habit, for example before you go to sleep, to sit back and do ‘muhassabah: honest self-criticism. Bring yourself to account before you’re brought to account. Make a list of your main weaknesses and make a practical plan on how to work on them. Make plans for how to tackle the shortcomings that make you feel ashamed in front of Allah.

— : Repent within six hours to Al-Haseeb.
A very important consequence of taking yourself into account is that you repent. How can you repent if you don’t even realize you did something wrong? Self-analysis makes this possible, that’s why it’s much more important. The Prophet (salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) told us about a beautiful opportunity: The Scribe on the left delays registering the sin of a Muslim for six hours. If he repents (within these six hours), and seeks Allah’s forgiveness, they drop if off. If he doesn’t, they write it down as a single sin. [At-Tabaranee]

When you’re about to sin, remind yourself that this sin will be written down and presented to you on the scariest day of your life: the day of Judgement. Take your chance to repent within six hours to avoid your sin being presented to you on this dreadful day.

— : Ask Al-Haseeb.

Aim high in asking Allah Al-Haseeb. Ask minor and major things only from Allah. A very important daily dhikr is:

حَسْبِىَ اللّٰهُ لَآ اِلَهَ اِلَّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَ هُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيْمِ

Allah is sufficient for me. There is no God but He. I have placed my trust in Him, He is Lord of the Majestic Throne.

Whoever says this seven times in the morning after fajr and seven times after Asr, Allah will take care of whatever worries him/her of the matter of this world and the Hereafter. [Muslim]
