In this article, I’m gonna cover the next 4 Names In sha Allah! Let’s read for boosting our Iman & for knowing Allah Almighty.

→ Al-Aziz (The Mighty One, Strong, The Defeater)

Al-Aziz is the All-Strong, the Most Powerful & All-Dominant who is controlling his whole creations. He is the conqueror that is never conquered and never harmed. Because His strength and power can’t be control or be overcome.

And indeed, your Lord — He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. (Surah Ash-Shu’raa, 26:68)

Aziz comes from the root (عزز), which points to four main meanings.

  1. To be mighty and powerful
  2. To be noble and elevated.
  3. To be invincible.
  4. To be unattainable.

The One whose majesty is unique & unmatchable. The One who has complete mastery over all of creation. The One who is incomparable and unparalleled.

He is the One Who shapes you in the wombs of your mothers as He wills. There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him — the Exalted in Might, All-Wise. (Surah Ali-Imran, 3:6)

And to Allah belong the soldiers of the heavens and the earth. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise. (Surah Al-Fath, 48:7)

Our Duty?

  1. Always use your own Power or authority in an honorable way, over your children or spouse or in office or wherever you’re leading.
  2. Izzah (Honor) lies only within the Islam, not in the money, power, and looks, etc. So, Train yourself to have the strength to resist desires by reminding yourself of the wisdom Al-‘Azeez, who uses His power with wisdom, who is watching you every time.
  3. Always ask for strength only from the Mighty one & undefeatable.

→ Al-Jabbar (The Restorer, The Repairer, The All-Compelling, The Irresistible)

The One who is the Irresistible. Whatever He decrees will certainly come to pass without any fail. The One who compels each and everything according to the divine. The One who is high, above all creation and utterly irresistible.

Al- Jabbar comes from the root jeem-baa-raa (جبر) and points out three main meanings.

  1. Compel and force someone to do something.
  2. Strongest & Greatest One
  3. To repair, mend or restore something.

Whenever this word is used in Qur’an for people, it is for a negative sense. Because people always oppress others in power. But Allah is Al-Jabbar in the positive sense. He is kind to oppressed ones and angry for tyrant ones. For example, Both Fir’awn and the mother of Musa ‘Alayhi Sallam faced Allah the Al-Jabbar. One of them achieved the blessing of Allah while the other (Fir’awn) was cursed.

He is Allah — there is no god except Him: the King, the Most Holy, the All-Perfect, the Source of Serenity, the Watcher ˹of all˺, the Almighty, the Supreme in Might. (Surah Hashar, 59:23)

→ Our Duty?

  1. We are also Jabbar sometimes. Jabbar is not just a mighty tyrant ruler, it can be anyone who didn’t obey and harms or hurts other people. An example is not listening to your parents and hurting them with your words or actions. So our lesson is, don’t be Jabbar! Be Kind.
  2. If you have oppressed someone, ask forgiveness from them. If you see someone suffering from trouble, try to talk to them and show them your care. Mend someone’s heart so that Allah al-Jabbaar mends yours.
  3. If you’re feeling weak or it feels like you cannot accomplish something, then ask Al-Jabbar to fix your deficiencies.

→ Al-Mutakabbir (The Supreme, The Dominant One)

Al-Mutakabbir is supremely great. He is above from all of His creation. He has those rights and attributes which others do not have. He is truly great & He shows His greatness in all things and in many ways.

Mutakabbir comes from the root kaaf-baa-raa (کبر), which has two main meanings.

  1. To be great in size, rank, or dignity.
  2. To have rights, privileges, and attributes that others don’t have.

Linguistically, kibriya means greatness, and it encompasses the meanings of the perfection of one’s self and existence. Nobody can be described as such except Allah. Allah u Akbar Allah is the Greatest — comes from the same root, as well as the name of Allah, Al-Kabeer.

Just like Al-Jabbar (as we read above), Allah is Al-Mutakabir in a positive sense. Allah ‘Azza wa jall describes people as mutakabbireen (arrogant) on multiple occasions in the Quran. They have arrogance in their hearts. This arrogance is exposed when they treat poorly with people who’re working under them.

For Allah does not like whoever is arrogant, boastful — (Surah Al-Hadid, 57:23)

He is Allah — there is no god except Him: the King, the Most Holy, the All-Perfect, the Source of Serenity, the Watcher ˹of all˺, the Almighty, the Supreme in Might, the Majestic. (Surah Hashar, 59:23)

Hazarat Abu Huraira(RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “Allah the Almighty said: Pride is my cloak and greatness My robe, and he who competes with Me in respect of either of them I shall cast into Hell-fire.” (Abu-Dawud)

Out Duty?

  1. The greatest strength that you can attain is by having reliance on Allah Almighty. You have to seek help & guidance from Allah. You can achieve the highest level of greatness via showing humility to your Lord.
  2. Respect others, even though they may possess less beauty, knowledge, wealth, fame, or status or have a different skin color. The Prophet (PBUH) said: He who has in his heart the weight of a mustard seed of pride shall not enter Paradise. (Muslim)
  3. Every day ask Allah al-Mutakabbir to save you and protect you from the evil of pride and arrogance.

→ AL-KHAALIQ (The Creator, The Maker)

The One who creates something from start. Who brings things into existence from a state of non-existence. Who creates both the inner and the outer appearance in proper forms.

He creates what He pleases and in a perfect manner. He is the only one who determines when, how, and what to create and does so from nothing.

Allah is the Creator of all things, and He is the Maintainer of everything. (Surah Az-Zumar, 39:62)

Al-Khaaliq is derived from kaaf-lam-qaaf (خلق), which means

  1. To create, To build, or To make existent from nothing.
  2. To create also means to make a substance or an element existent, and after making it exist, to change it to some other being.

That is Allah, your Lord; there is no deity except Him, the Creator of all things, so worship Him. And He is Disposer of all things. (Surah Al-An’am, 6:102)

Is not He who created the heavens and the earth Able to create the likes of them? Yes, [it is so]; and He is the Knowing Creator. (Surah Ya-Sin, 36:81)

→ Our Duty

  1. If you want anything, ask Al-Khaaliq. There is no magic, evil eye, body chemistry, or any force on earth that can stop what Allah Al-Khaaliq has destined to come into existence.
  2. Don’t try to please Creations by angering Allah. Our problem is that we disobey Allah in a run of pleasing people of our circle. Please, Don’t do that.
  3. Pay attention & think deeply about the creations of this universe. It will help out to increase your faith in Allah Almighty.
