In this article, I’m gonna cover the next 4 Names In sha Allah! Let’s read for boosting our Iman & for knowing Allah Almighty.
→ Al-Wahhaab (The Giver, The Supreme Bestower)
The One who is Generous in giving plenty without any return. The great giver whose blessings are freely given. He always gives to the deserving and undeserving as well, to the good and the evil as well. In simple words, He is the All-Giver who bestows gifts, favors, and blessings upon the whole creation.
Al-Wahhaab comes from the root waw-haa-baa (وھب), which points to these main meanings.
- To give for no compensation, to bestow
- To grant or endow.
He said, “My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me. Indeed, You are the Bestower.” (Surah Sad, 38:35)
Al-Wahhaab is the source of all gifts, bestowing favors with the most detailed wisdom(Al-Aziz). His gifts come in the form of moments you experience, scenes you see, things you hear, and material blessings.
Or ˹is it because˺ they possess the treasuries of the mercy of your Lord — the Almighty, the Giver ˹of all bounties˺.(Surah Sad, 38:9)
Our Duty?
- Remember Al-Wahhaab.
When someone gives you a gift or anything, you thank him or her. So what about the Giver of all gifts? Just think about it. The difference between a believer and a disbeliever is that both live with gifts of Al-Wahhaab, but the disbeliever doesn’t recognize & remember these gifts. On the opposite side, a Believer always knows his Giver. Always be thankful to your maker for everything you get. - We’re covered with a lot of gifts. Just look at your Body. Indeed, We created humans in the best form. (At-Tin:4) Do you have eyes to see? Ears to listen? Nose to smell? Legs to walk? Ask those who haven't even one of these organs. Then you’ll know their value. Just sit & try to ponder.
- Use the gifts of Al-Wahhaab in the right way.
Always thank Al-Wahhaab for using His gifts to please Him. An example is a mobile phone; Al-Wahhaab gave you this technology, so use it for sharing knowledge and not for wasting time. If He gives you a nice afternoon with friends, don’t use it for backbiting or spending time in places of immoral behavior. - Ask al-Wahhaab.
Do You have some desires? Do you want anything? Always ask from Al-Wahhab, The best Giver.
O mankind, you are those in need of Allah, while Allah is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy. (Surah Fatir, 35:15)
→Ar-Razzaaq (The Provider)
Ar-Razzaq provides sustenance to all His creatures without any exception of sinner or righteous. He also takes it upon Himself to especially grant, with His immense mercy and grace, to His righteous servants.
Razzaaq comes from the root raa-zaa-qaa (رزق), which points to these main meanings.
- To receive something beneficial or to receive a portion or share.
- To be provided or supplied with the necessities of life.
Indeed, Allah ˹alone˺ is the Supreme Provider — Lord of all Power, Ever Mighty. (Surat Adh-Dhariyaat, 51:58)
What is Rizq?
Rizq is a thing that benefits you and it includes not just money but also knowledge, good manners, security, peace of mind, and spiritual enhancement. Allah Ar-Razzaaq created your rizq, and He delivers it to you by seeing your efforts & hardwork.
O mankind, remember the favor of Allah upon you. Is there any creator other than Allah who provides for you from the heaven and earth? (Surah Fatir, 35:3)
Also Rizq is a test from Allah Almighty. if we don’t rule with justice, there will be corruption on earth. These days, people are starving. why? Because there’s no equal distribution of wealth in this world. Our system is totally against Allah’s will.
Our Duty?
- Be Satisfied
Be content over the provided rizq from Ar-Razzaq. He give more who shows gratification. Hazarat Umar (RA) said: “ If something is meant to go elsewhere, it will never come on your way, but if it is yours by destiny, from you it cannot flee.” So, Don’t complain about your wealth & Body. - Trust in Ar-Razzaq.
Never commit bad deeds in the name of seeking provision (Rizq), and trust that all provisions will come from Allah ‘Azza wa Jal. As He provided for you when you were in the womb, He will even provide for you after you are born. - Use your rizq in the right way.
Be trustworthy with Allah’s provisions; don’t seek haram ways, and this also prevents your supplications from being answered. One of the things that prevent your rizq from reaching you is your sin. - Learn how to increase your rizq!
In the Quran and Sunnah, ways are mentioned for you to increase your Rizq; look out for them. Examples are striving for taqwa, praying with khushoo’, having tawakkul (reliance on Allah), being thankful, asking for forgiveness and repenting, giving charity, and reading the Quran.
Provide for us! You are indeed the Best Provider. (Surat Al-Maa’idah, 5:114)
Or who is it that will provide for you if He withholds His provision? In fact, they persist in arrogance and aversion ˹to the truth˺ (Surah Al-Mulk, 67:21)
→ Al-Fattah (The Opener, The Judge)
He judges between His servants through his laws of shari'ah. He opens all doors of blessings, sustenance, and mercy for them. He opens what is closed and makes what is unclear, clear.
Fattaah comes from the root faa-taa-haa (فتح), which points to four main meanings.
- To open, unlock, or reveal and make clear.
- To make victorious
- To judge or decide.
- To permit or grant.
Say, “Our Lord will bring us together; then He will judge between us in truth. And He is the Knowing Judge.” (Surah Saba, 34:26)
Linguistically, Al-fattah is someone who opens. Al-Fattah is the ultimate judge who decides to open gates that no one else can open, in both literal and symbolical, physical and spiritual ways, and He is the source of victory and success.
Our Duty?
- Trust in the judge.
Life is full of arguments. Some people accuse others and claim to be right. Who is the judge? Who knows the reality of people? It is Al-Fattah. Always make the Qur’an & Sunnah the judge of your actions. Also, don’t judge others too quickly — Al-Fattaah can open anyone’s heart. - Realize Al-Fattah can open all doors.
Try to close doors for His sake — by leaving a bad habit, wrong friends, or a place of sinning– even if it causes you physical hardship — and then ultimately He will surely open a door for you to good. Never despair nor give up. There’s a hadith: “Verily, you will never leave anything for the sake of Allah Almighty but that Allah will replace it with something better.” - Ask al-Fattah.
Whenever a gate is closed in your life, remember Al-Fattah and ask Him to open it for you. This goes under all circumstances, whether serious or insignificant. Also when you feel low, or you feel you lack understanding of the religion, ask Him to open your heart and the hearts of your loved ones. - Study Surah Al-Fatiha.
Learn to recite, memorize, and understand Surah Al-Fatihah. Study the Tafseer of this beautiful surah; when you recite it in prayer make sure you pause after each ayah and apply its lessons to your daily life. - Benefit others.
Open to others the gates of your own good work and become involved in projects beneficial to others. If you have a certain skill, develop it and help others with it so with the guidance of Al-Fattah.
→ Al-’Aleem (The All-Knowing, The Knowledgeable)
He is the One whose knowledge is comprehensive, Perfect and extends to everything seen and unseen, apparent and hidden, the opens and secrets. He knows all affairs of his creations. Nothing whatsoever is hidden from Him and He knows what was in the past, what is in the present, and what will be in the future.
He knows whatever is in the heavens and the earth. And He knows whatever you conceal and whatever you reveal. For Allah knows best what is ˹hidden˺ in the heart. (Surah At-Taghabun, 64: 4)
‘Aleem comes from the root ‘ayn-laam-meem (علم), which points to four main meanings.
- To have knowledge and be aware and certain
- To gather information.
- To have deep knowledge of minute details
- To act according to knowledge.
Al-‘Aleem comprehends everything with certainty; no knowledge is concealed from Him and He is aware of all things even before they take place.
To Allah belong the east and the west, so wherever you turn you are facing ˹towards˺ Allah. Surely Allah is All-Encompassing, All-Knowing. (Surat Al-Baqarah, 2:115)
Attributes: No ignorance, no learning, no forgetting
Allah’s knowledge can’t be compared to any other knowledge of creations. Our knowledge is started from ignorance and we gain knowledge by learning. We also forget. How many times did you forget your remembered lesson the next day? Allah’s Knowledge is free from all these limitations.
Surely your Lord is the Master Creator, All-Knowing. (Surah Al-Hijr, 15:86)
Most Honourable Knowledge?
The most honorable knowledge is to know Allah, His beautiful divine names and attributes, His religion, etc. And the way to this knowledge is through studying the Quran and the Sunnah. But we’re so bad that we studied chemistry, math, sciences, physics etc types subject with full passion, & we don’t have time for learning Deen.
Our Duty?
- Stick to the commands of Al-‘Aleem.
Al-‘Aleem says: “And He is with you wherever you are. For Allah is All-Seeing of what you do.”(Quran, 57:4) If you know that He sees you while you’re alone and when you’re in the company of others, that He knows all of your secret thoughts and intentions if you firmly believe that Allah ‘Azza Wa Jall knows all things, then stick to His divine commands and know that they are the best for you. - Desire to learn.
Be eager to increase your knowledge, especially Islamic knowledge, since Allah loves knowledge and those who possess it. Be patient in seeking beneficial knowledge, and recognize that learning is a form of worship. - Be humble.
Let Allah’s perfect and detailed knowledge humble you. This is why it is said: the one who knows the most about Allah fears Him the most. - Accept what is decreed for you.
Know that Al-‘Aleem makes your heart able to accept what He decreed for you. Because you know He designed your destiny by His knowledge and wisdom. Whatever pain, stress, disappointment, and injustice you go through, Allah knows. Remind yourself of this to get closer to Him, especially during trials. - Ask Al-‘Aleem to increase your knowledge.
Allah Al-‘Aleem loves those who seek knowledge and always ask for knowledge via following supplication: رَّبِّ زِدْنِى عِلْمًا- My Lord! Increase me in knowledge. - Do dhikr with this name.
The Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said: Anyone who says (mentioned dua below) three times in the evening — nothing will harm them until the morning, and anyone who says it three times in the morning, nothing will harm them until the evening. [Ahmad]
“In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in the sky can harm. And He is the All-Hearing and All-Knowing”
Muḥammad is not the father of [any] one of your men, but [he is] the Messenger of Allah and seal [i.e., last] of the prophets. And ever is Allah, of all things, Knowing. (Surah Al-Ahzab, 33:40)
