In this article, I’m gonna cover the next 4 Names In sha Allah! Let’s read for boosting our Iman & for knowing Allah Almighty.
→ Al-Baari (The Originator, The Producer)
The One who creates form out of nothing. The One Who creates something from start. The one Who brings things into existence from a state of non-existence.
Al-Baari’ creates things with no model or similarity and evolves that which is in perfect proportion and harmony without any fault!
The root word of Al-Baari points to three main meanings.
- To create and to form out of nothing
- To evolve, using pre-existing matter.
- To be individual and free and clear from faults.
He is Allah: the Creator, the Inventor, the Shaper. He ˹alone˺ has the Most Beautiful Names (Surah Al-Hashr, 59:24)
Al-Bari, A challenge to everyone
A simple example of the Greatness of Al-Baari is that Not even modern-day scientists can make creatures like Al-Bari creates. They can’t make even a single fly (Allah challenged this to all mankind in Qur’an 22:73). A fly is a complete living being with tiny yet comprehensive flight management, guidance, and surveillance system without any use of technology. And this challenge is made in the Qur’an 14 hundreds of years before. Scientists are even failed to do this in this Modern era of our age. Alhamdulillah, this is an image of Al-Baari, the creator.
Our duty?
- Always have firm belief & Confidence in Allah, even that times when modern science tries to divert you away from belief in a Creator. A Bedouin who lived in the desert, when he was asked, How do you know your Lord? He said: “If you see the camel dung you know that a camel has passed this way, and if you see a footstep you know that a person has passed this way, so the heaven with its stars and the earth with its mountain passes and the oceans with their high waves all point to the existence of the All-Hearing, All-Seeing, The Creator” Let this inspire you in yaqeen (certainty) and faith.
- Don’t try to please Creations by angering Allah. Be very honest with yourself and look at how many occasions in your life you’ve actually tried to please the creation instead of pleasing al-Baari’. The Prophet (SAW) said: There is no obedience to the creation, in disobedience to the Creator. Obedience is only in what is good. [al-Bukharee] Some of the examples are wedding ceremonies, Haram relationships &
- Ponder the creation of Al-Baari. Look at the morning or evening sun, at tiny insects, flies, plants, and flowers. Study science and do so with the intention of pondering His creation.
- Use your knowledge of this powerful name to give da’wah to those who do not believe in their Creator. Spread even one good message. Our Prophet(SAW) said that If Allah guides a person through you, it is better for you than all that is on the earth.
→ Al-Musawwir (The Fashioner, The Bestower of Forms)
The One who forms His creatures in different pictures. Al-Musawwir brings into existence whatever he wills and in whatever manner he wills it. He says “Be!” and it is. He is the fashioner of every creation and has given it a special form whereby it is distinguished.
Musawwir comes from the root saad-waw-raa (صور), which points to three main meanings.
- To make something incline, lean, or bend.
- To form, fashion, or picture something.
- To have an inclination or desire towards something.
He is Allah: the Creator, the Inventor, the Fashioner. He ˹alone˺ has the Most Beautiful Names (Surah Al-Hashr, 59:24)
→ The Relation of Al-Khaaliq, Al-Baari’ and Al-Musawwir
In Surah al-Hashr (24), Al-Musawwir’ is mentioned after al-Khaaliq (The Creator, The Maker) and al-Baari’ (The Originator). Some scholars have said that in this ayah Al-Khaliq refers specifically to Allah’s determination of what He creates, so it comes first.
The name Al-Baarī’ refers to the creative act of bringing about what Allah wills to create. Finally, the name Al-Musawwir (The Fashioner) refers to giving each created thing its particular form. So Allah decrees what He creates, brings it into existence, and specifies its particular, unique form.
Our Duty?
- We live in a time of cosmetic surgery; if you don’t like how you look, you can change yourself with a medical procedure. Allah says:
Indeed, We created humans in the best form. (At-Tin, 95:4)
Be content & Happy with how Al-Musawwir shaped you by His ultimate wisdom. No matter how thin or fat are you, how tall or small are you, Allah created you in the Best form. When you look at yourself in the mirror, say Alhamdulillah. If Shaytan tempts you to complain about any of your facial or body features, remember those who are blind, sick, or disabled.
2. Al-Musawwir perfected everything you see around you; don’t you think He can solve all your problems? So remember when you supplicate: nothing is impossible for Al-Musawwir. Because Allah says:
O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous. Who created you, fashioned you, and perfected your design, (Surah Al-Infitar, 6:8)
→ Al-Ghaffar (The All-Forgiving)
The One who accepts repentance and forgives our faults and sins again & again. The one who gives us internal peace of heart after our repentance of sins. The One who protects us from the effects of our faults and sins, both in the present world and the future.
The word Ghaffar comes from the root letters ghayn fa ra (غفر) and it has the following classical Arabic connotations:
- To cover, veil, conceal, hide.
- To pardon, to forgive.
- To cover a thing to protect it from dirt.
He sees our all sins and disobedience, yet he will still forgive and accept the repentance of all those who turn to Him. He shows never-ending compassion and forgives any sin, small or big, of his worshipers.
Except for those who repent, believe, and do righteous work. For them, Allah will replace their evil deeds with good. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful. (Surah Al-Furqan, 25:70)
Repentance (Tauba):
Allah forgives all sins Whatever sins mankind commits, regardless of type, quality, or quantity of time or place of their occurrence, but only on pure repentance.
Allah says:
But indeed, I am the Perpetual Forgiver of whoever repents and believes and does righteousness and then continues in guidance. (Surah Taha, 20:82)
But the condition is to make pure tuaba (repentance) which has 3 main steps for completion.
- Feeling ashamed on committed sin
- Asking forgiveness of Allah's
- firm attitude to not do this again.
And there is also the 4th step if your sin has a link with other people. You have to repay them. If you grasped their wealth or property, you have to pay back and ask forgiveness from them. If you even hurt them with your tongue or hand, you have to ask for forgiveness.
Our Duty?
- We all commit sins intentionally or unintentionally. There are days that we have lived in ignorance. But Allah subhanahu wa ta`ala is Ar-Raheem. He keeps forgiving a believer as long as he is sincere in his repentance. Take benefit of Allah’s Name Al-Ghaffar. Call upon him by this name and ask Him to forgive you. Because our Prophet (SAW) said: “Every son of Adam sins, and the best of the sinners are the repentant”
- Conceal Your and Others sins. If Al-Ghaffar chooses to conceal our sins then who are we to reveal them to people or reveal their sins to others? Have regret for whatever wrong you have committed but don’t share it with others. Similarly, don’t expose people or else Al-Ghaffar too can stop veiling our sins and expose our ugly sight to others.
→ Al-Qahhar (The Irresistible, The All-Dominant)
He is the One before whom everyone, including tyrants, is humbled. He is also the One who prevails over all His creation and to whom everyone and everything submits. The One Whose will is irresistible. He is the One Who is dominant.
Glory be to Him! He is Allah — the One, the Supreme. (Az-Zumar, 39:4)
The word Qahhar comes from the root letters qāf hā rā (قھر) and it has the following classical Arabic connotations:
→ to overcome, to overpower,
→ to dominate, to conquer
→ to compel against one’s wishes
He is ever dominating. He is managing this whole universe in which there's are billions of stars bigger than the sun in just the Milkyway Galaxy and a lot of other galaxies bigger than the Milkyway. He is controlling them all by His divine power. He controls the four basic elements of water, fire, air & soul in perfect harmony. Who’s like him? No one, literally No one. لا إله إلا الله محمد رسول الله
Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “I am only a warner. And there is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Allah — the One, the Supreme. (Surah Sad, 38:65)
Our Duty?
- Fear Al-Qahhar. If heavenly objects such as the sun and planets are under His control then how can we stand against Him? How? Be fearful of His accountability and don’t disobey Him. Live your life according to His commands & instructions (in our Instructional Manual, The Qur’an).
- Submit to Al-Qahhar. When all things are in His control then submit to whatever He has decided for you. Know that He created us and planned our lives we can never challenge Him.
- Ask Al-Qahhar. If everything is under His control if He can bring harmony between incongruent things He can definitely improve your life too. Ask Al-Qahhar to resolve any matter that is bothering you. Ask Him to settle the domestic feuds and bring harmony to your home.
