Part-Time Hypocrites
Being Muslim, We are part-time hypocrites. Yes, You’ve read it right. Let’s see how.
Once my teacher said to me, we’re part-time hypocrites. I wondered a lot and asked how is it possible. He said, Ok Listen. Although we’re not Hypocrites originally because there are some categories of Hypocrites mentioned in Hadith. If these are not fulfilled yet, we’re not a munafiq.
But we are part-time Hypocritess until we fixed these three things.
Greatest
We always said Allah is the greatest. And we also say these phrases in every Namaz (Allah-u-Akbar). But our real life is completely opposite. In reality, Money is the greatest, wife, family, resources, and own desires are always Akbar and the greatest. Allah is at last on our list.
In every hardship and trouble, our first thought is on our bank balance. Then at the other sources of money. If they are enough for tackle out then good enough. Otherwise, Allah Malik. And at the end, Allah Malik hai. Why is Allah Malik at the end?? Because Allah is not Akbar is not at the first spot in our life.
Imagination
Allah is like an imagination in our lives, not the reality
For understanding this, let’s take the EarthQuake or War example. When these scenes are in movies or seasons, we enjoyed these, and have no effects on our nerves. But what when an earthquake comes in real life? What if war will begin in real? That’s what Allah in imagination or real life. By just imagination, we’re desensitized to the laws & commands of Allah and disobeying Him. But If we consider Him as reality, Our life will be a different one.
Lover & Deity
Lover and Deity(To whom we worship, God) should be One. (Mehboob or Mabood ek hona chaihea).
And unfortunately, these two things are different in our lives. Mabood is obviously Allah Almighty, but the Lover (Mehboob) is always money or the opposite gender or something else of this world.
He said(my Teacher), How do we treat our Lover if something wents wrong? Let’s take the example of a person whom we love. If Sometimes we didn’t talk to him/her because of an issue or busy routine, then obviously that person can be a bit angry, and will ask where are you? Akhir kha reh gye the jo bat nai ki mj see. What will be our response? nai meri jaan busy tha, workload boht zaida tha, man jao please, hr wqt tmhara e kheal hai. tmhi meri life ho. etc etc
And what If we offer Namaz after a gap? And What If Allah asks O my Slaves, O my Servent, Where are you? Why did not you talk to me?? Can we say these statements to Allah too?? Ya Allah tera e kheal tha hr wqt, apke bare me e soch rha tha. Apka e dam bartha tha. How would someone say these to both if His Mabood & Mehboob are different?
Also Allah says in Qur’an:
وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَتَّخِذُ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَندَادًا يُحِبُّونَهُمْ كَحُبِّ ٱللَّهِ ۖ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَشَدُّ حُبًّا لِّلَّه
Still, there are some who take others as Allah’s equal — they love them as they should love Allah — but the ˹true˺ believers love Allah even more.
And This ayah relates exactly to the 3rd Point of Part-Time Hypocrites. Allah Also says We make our Lovers equal to Allah by loving them as Allah should be Loved. And Only true believers love Allah more than all else.
Maybe You can disagree with all these points. These are just based on personal observations. But These points of my teacher seem reasonable to me. May Allah save us from part-time hypocrisy.
